The Azerbaijani federation blames the Eintracht fans for the empty seats in the Baku final

The Chelsea champion crowned Europa League last Wednesday but the controversy seems to want to remain a problem.

One of the things that most caught the attention of the final between ‘blues’ and Arsenal was the 16,000 empty seats presented by the Olympic Baku. More than one believes that it is due to the abusive prices and travel problems encountered by the fans of both London clubs, but that is not what the Federation of Azerbaijan, host of the final, thinks.

According to the Azerbaijani football organization, through its president Rovnag Abdullayev, the fault lies with the fans of Eintracht Frankfurt, a semifinalist team that lost on penalties against the defending champion Chelsea. For the president, the German fans bought the tickets before knowing if they would qualify and then did not go to Baku.

In any case, the capacity of the stadium is 67,800 spectators and the official number of presents was 51,370.
