England international striker Peter Crouch today announced the end of his football career at age 38 in a letter published in the Daily Mail.
“After much thought this summer, I decided to retire from football. This wonderful sport has given me everything. I am very grateful to all who helped me get here and stay so long,” wrote Crouch, who last season represented the Burnley.
The veteran striker has gone through eight English Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Liverpool, winning a FA Cup, English Super Cup and Champions League.
Representing England, Crouch played 42 matches and scored 22 goals.
